Work with us

Help build HG Intel, our healthcare governance intelligence platform launching in 2027. We are looking for a contract developer, on flexible days and term, to join the founder in the build.

Open role

Full Stack Developer (TypeScript / Next.js)

HG Intel is in build ahead of a 2027 launch, and the first version needs a second pair of experienced hands alongside the founder. We keep product detail off this page on purpose. Once we are in conversation you will see the codebase, the roadmap and the decisions behind them.

Days and term are flexible: anywhere from 1 to 4 days a week, and 1 to 3 months to start, shaped around what you can give and what the build needs.

For the right person this can grow into part ownership. A pathway to an equity stake in HG Intel is on the table, agreed after an initial period working together and structured with professional advice. It is offered in addition to the hourly rate, never instead of it.

You will work directly with Naomi Alefelder, founder of Holistic Governance. There is no product manager between you and the person who owns the outcome.

The work

What you would work on

A production TypeScript codebase: a Next.js web application and API backed by PostgreSQL on Google Cloud, with LLM-assisted features that are tested and evaluated rather than trusted. The work ahead is hardening what exists, building customer-facing features, and building agentic workflows where every agent output passes a verification step before it is used.

You

What we are looking for

Must have

  • You have shipped and supported a production Next.js or Node.js application.
  • You are confident in TypeScript and comfortable in PostgreSQL, including schema changes and migrations.
  • You write tests as a matter of course and are happy in a codebase where no change ships without one.
  • You can work independently from a written plan, ask when something is unclear, and say so when you do not know.
  • You hold an ABN and can invoice as a contractor.

Nice to have

  • Prisma, and experience with multi-tenant SaaS.
  • Agentic workflows in production: tool use, multi-step agents, and verification steps that check what an agent produced before it is used.
  • LLM APIs in production, and experience evaluating model output rather than trusting it.
  • Google Cloud, or another cloud with containers and managed Postgres.
  • Health, aged care or another regulated sector.
Ways of working

How we work

Test-first, small slices

Test-driven development is mandatory: red, green, refactor. One thin vertical slice per pull request. The suite stays green and type-clean.

We document the why

We are fans of Architecture Decision Records. Every significant choice has one, and you will read them before changing anything they cover.

AI-assisted, human-reviewed

The founder builds with Claude Code, and you will too. Every AI-assisted change is reviewed by a person before it merges.

Accuracy over speed

This is a compliance product. A confident wrong answer is worse than an admitted unknown, and nothing is fabricated.
